Welcome to My Personal Blog — My Goals, Aspirations, Beliefs, and Everything In Between
Posted: September 9, 2025

Well, here we are! It would seem I’ve gone full circle with this website. I first launched Fabrizio Van Marciano Dot Com back in 2017 to promote my freelance web design services. That part of the journey has since moved to a brand new platform, so now I’m bringing this site back as my personal diary.
Hey, I’m Fabrizio Van Marciano, and yep—that’s a picture of me up there working on my laptop by the pool, on vacation in Lanzarote.
So, what’s so “personal” about this blog?
You’re going to get me in the raw. The real Fabrizio, most people don’t know.
This is now the space where I can just be myself (even if I don’t have any hair left to let down). I’ll be using this platform to share my knowledge and experiences as a content creator, web designer, entrepreneur, dad, husband based in the UK and sometimes the Canary Islands.
I’ll also be using the blog to chat about tech—mainly the tools (including hardware) I use in my business. Plus some self-improvement, mental health, and whatever else I feel is worth sharing.
I love to travel. Well, actually, back in my younger days, I visited a few beautiful countries on surfing adventures. These days, when I’m not working, there’s really just one spot I love to escape to: the Canary Islands which you’ll hear me mention often on this blog…
If you’ve followed me for some time, you may know that my ultimate goal is to move out of the UK to Gran Canaria, so I’ll be sharing that journey on this blog too, and I’ll talk more about my goals later.
So, who is Fabrizio Van Marciano?
If this is your first time landing here, you probably know me as the guy who designs websites and shares WordPress and Bricks Builder tutorials over on Van Marciano Pro and my YouTube channel (sometimes). Yep, that’s me.
Outside of that realm, I’m a dad, husband, electronic music producer, daily Karate practitioner, philosopher, and avid gamer (The Division 2 and Battlefield are my playgrounds).
I love to think, read, think some more, and find creative ways to build my online businesses.
Politics
Oh boy, here we go.
I could just say no comment, but this is my personal blog, so I can share whatever I want.
I’m pretty anti-politics, but I do have quite a few reservations. I have little to no respect for modern politicians or their strange agendas, and I honestly don’t believe they do much to push humanity forward or unite people together. You’ll find out what my reservations are, later in this post, when you read about my ultimate goal in life.
Religion
When it comes to religion, I grew up in a home with strong Catholic roots. My nana, God bless her soul, devoted her whole life to Jesus and she was the kindest and most loving person. She certainly helped to raise me, and taught me to respect all faiths and beliefs and to develop my own opinions on things. She would say, always have an open mind because anything is truly possible.
These days, I don’t really practice much, and as I was taught, I like to keep an open mind about what God is, how we got here, and where we’re heading as sentient-beings.
All of my prayers and blessings go out to the empty void of space these nights. For me, it’s the endless chaos and disorder, but yet calm and stillness of the fabric of space and time that represents my God.
This might sound a bit strange but that’s just me.
We are a way for the universe to know itself. Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. – Carl Sagan
I love that quote.
Entrepreneurship!
I was born to be an entrepreneur, to essentially carve my own way through life. To conform to nothing, as it says on the front page of my website.
So, I kicked off my entrepreneurial journey back in 2005 as a visual artist, which eventually led me into graphic design. A year later, in 2006, I built my very first website using a builder called MoonFruit—which doesn’t even exist anymore.
Once I grasped the basics of website building, I launched a digital marketing blog in 2009 called Magnet4Marketing (renamed to Magnet4Blogging in 2014), and I’m still running it to this day. This also gave me a taste of WordPress.
In 2013, I completed a distance learning course in modern web development (back when Bootstrap was the big thing) and started diving deeper into WordPress.
By 2014, I was offering web design services through my blog, and a few years later, in 2017, I launched this site as a dedicated platform.
Fast forward to 2023, I moved my web design services over to vanmarciano.co and kicked off an online training platform at vanmarciano.pro, where I now teach visual web design with Bricks Builder, Oxygen, Breakdance, as well as share WordPress tutorials.
The rest, as they say, is history.
My ultimate goal in life!
First and foremost, health and happiness, without a doubt.
The goal is to also enjoy the process. What is the point to all of this, if you only look forward to the end result?
So many entrepreneurs dream of the day they can reach their ultimate goal, but actually fail to realize, working towards that goal is essentially living the goal, right?
My ultimate goal is simple:
I don’t need riches. My wealth is the endless love and the family I’m surrounded by.
What I do want is to be able to leave the UK and live in the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria), where I can continue my work as a freelancer web designer, WordPress educator, and digital content creator.
I’m not interested in materialistic items, unless it’s for work purposes. I tell you, I’m a sucker for new shiny productivity and tech things. I have more mechanical keyboards that I can count. But seriously, I am focused on my ultimate goal. Realistically, it’s the family goal!
But why, Fabrizio? What is wrong with the UK?
That is not an easy question to answer without offending anyone these days. And I hope I don’t, because for the most part, I love England and being British. You just have to open you eyes to see how many beautiful places there are in this country, and I’ve visited many of them.
Historical cities, golden sandy beaches, enchanting woodlands. Most people don’t see any of this because they choose to complain, rather than be grateful for their circumstances.
So as you’ve probably guessed, I’m not from the UK. I came here in 1984 from the tropical island of Mauritius and became a British Citizen by naturalization. I was extremely fortunate to have been raised by a loving English family, on my step-father’s side.
I was taught the core British values at an early age: Democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.
Later in life, I was blessed once more when I met and married my best friend—the most caring and supportive Yorkshire lass I could ever hope for. Today, my wife and I teach our children the core values of being British.
I will never feel it is wrong, inappropriate, or politically incorrect to say that I’m proud to be British.
But let’s not beat about the bush here. There is a growing concern that the values we proud ourselves on are slowly diminishing. Sadly, I can’t see a prosperous future for myself and my family in the UK under current circumstances.
I’ve tried my best to integrate, be part of a community, embracing diversity, which has helped me to develop myself, but things are not the same sadly.
Additionally, building a profitable online business in the UK is becoming much more challenging.
And there’s another major reason why we plan to leave within the next four or five years—that’s our timeline.
The weather here is far from ideal; for almost eight months of the year it’s dreary and darn well miserable. I thrive on good old sunshine, blue skies, and a comfortable temperature of around 22 degrees. That’s my perfect operating climate I’d say. But instead, winters in the UK hover around 6 degrees or above, windy, damp and wet, which makes it even harder for me to endure, even though I don’t have to step outside, it’s pretty dull and depressing.
